Lucky Grewal and Raminder Gill opened the first Gill International Travel office in 1982 on Airport Road in Malton. Soon after, Darshan Grewal joined them in the venture. Paul Gill joined the company in 1989 after landing from India. The second location opened in December of 1988 on Bay and Bloor Street in Downtown Toronto. In 1992, Paul and Raj Gill opened the first Vancouver location which has now moved into the Surrey neighbourhood. 

Since then, Gill International Travel has expanded across Toronto to Brampton, Rexdale, Mississauga, Scarborough, and Hamilton. In 2004 Gill Travel opened the Edmonton branch.
